KindergartenOur Kindergartners are introduced to iPads and desktop computers as they learn to control the digital environment. We work with mouse skills and navigation skills. By the end of Kindergarten they are able to open and close applications, navigate to class websites, log in and out of websites, control video on websites, and use creative applications like KidPix and Doodle Buddy. Kindergartners are introduced to drag and drop programming and robotics through apps like Kodable, Go and Path. We introduce our Kindergartners to DreamBox Learning to assist with attainment of math concepts.

With these applications they practice using the keyboard, drawing tools, and painting tools as they create animated stories and drawings. In second grade our students begin using KidBiz to assist with non-fiction reading.

When time permits they also interact with Google Classroom. We have been working on documenting our campus plants through a Virtual Garden project.

Photosynthesis Animations Point, Think and Shoot (in progress) Animating Simple Circuits RoboticsWe are building a K-5 Programming and Robotics program for our school. All students in grades K-5 are exposed to programming during their PLC computer classes and this year we were able to begin an after school program for K-5 students. Our Kindergarten and 1st graders are using Dash and Dot robots. Our 2nd and 3rd grade students are using LEGO WeDo 2.0 robots and our 4th and 5th grade students are using VEX IQ robots.

First GradeOur First graders continue working on the skills that they learned in Kindergarten and are introduced to using graphic tablets and a stylus as they draw in applications like KidPix. They practice programming by using Scratch Jr. on the iPads. First graders also begin practicing math fluency using BigBrainz addition and subtraction.

Mrs. Nishida's People Third GradeOur Third grade students begin using the Google Suite of tools in their daily classroom work and in research projects in the library and the computer lab. Programming is continued with work from the code.org Studio site and students work together to "pair program" their way through mazes and puzzles. Keyboarding is introduced in third grade and students move into multiplication with BigBrainz.

Fifth GradeOur Fifth graders use what they've learned in their science classes to create stop motion animations using desktop computers and/or iPads. They continue working with Google Suites and Google Classroom as well as DreamBox Learning. BigBrainz and KidBiz.

Tribal Art with Art Rage Systems Animations Hall of Fame or Shame Morning BroadcastMorning Broadcast is one of our school's service clubs. We have two teams of students who share the responsibility for producing our daily morning broadcast. We set up in two rooms and run two cameras with chromakeyed sets.
